5S/6S Audits
The basics
The 5S system is one of the most important tools included in the Lean Management methodology, which had its origins in the manufacturing industry. At the beginning it was limited to a model called Toyota Production System (TPS), but with time it evolved and was expanded to 6S.
What are 5S/6S audits
"Everything has its place and everything in its place" - this slogan illustrates the main assumptions of the 5S work organization methodology, the name of which comes from the Japanese words: Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke. They can be translated as: selection, systematics, cleaning, standardization, self-discipline.
